The International has been held annually since 1906 when the International Sheep Dog Society was formed by a group of sheepdog enthusiasts. Just with the exception of the war years, and 2001 (due to the Foot and Mouth restrictions).
The I.S.D.S. Chairman Jim Easton speaks with Princess Anne at Kelso in the Scottish Borders in 2006, when the Society celebrated its Centenary. Her Royal Highness has since become the Patron of the Society and enjoyed a lengthy visit to the 2009 International at Lowther, enjoying some of the brace runs on the first day. This was a great honour for the I.S.D.S. and made the event special.
